HCAA seeks families who value: 

  • A rigorous, enrichment-focused academic program
  • Daily engagement in the arts

Admissions in not based on prior artistic training. We welcome students who are willing to participate fully in arts instruction as part of their daily learning. Prior experience in the arts is used to determine appropriate class, level, and program placement, ensuring each student is challenged and supported at the right level.

To be considered for enrollment, families must submit: 

  • Student admissions form
  • Parent/Guardian agreement to school polices
  • Emergency and medical information
  • Records release form (for transferring students)
  • Any required placement or readiness assessments

Applications are reviewed in the order received; Submission does not guarantee placement.

HCAA evaluates each applicant's readiness for success in our program, including:

  • Age and developmental readiness
  • Prior academic records (if applicable)
  • Behavioral history and ability to follow school expectations
  • Capacity to participate safely and respectfully in group learning and arts activities

Behavior Expectations

Students are expected to:

  • Demonstrate integrity, self-discipline, and respect for peers, faculty, and staff
  • Follow classroom and campus rules consistently to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment
  • Engage in conduct that supports learning for themselves and others

Behavioral concerns that disrupt learning or compromise the well-being of others may result in the review of continued enrollment.

  • Participate in daily arts instruction
  • Perform or present work in class showcases

Families are expected to support their child's participation in performances, rehearsals, and arts-related events.

  • Support school policies and communication procedures
  • Ensure consistent attendance and timely arrival
  • Participate in conferences, events, and community-building opportunities
  • Model respectful communication with staff and other families

Enrollment requires: 

  • Payment of the annual registration fee
  • Agreement to the tuition and fee schedule
  • Timely payment of all financial obligations
  • Adherence to withdrawal and refund policies

Financial assistance may be available depending on program offerings and funding.

After review, families will receive written notification of: 

  • Acceptance
  • Waitlist placement
  • Request for additional documentation
  • Non-admission (when program cannot meet a student's needs)
  • Priority consideration is given to siblings of currently enrolled students, provided they meet all admissions requirements and demonstrate readiness for full participation in our arts‑integrated program.

HCAA reserves the right to determine whether the Academy can appropriately support each applicant based on staffing, program capacity, and student needs.

No student shall be admitted who:

  • Is ineligible to return to their previous school.
  • Has a history of disciplinary problems at prior schools.
  • Has academic deficiencies that cannot be addressed by HCAA (based on testing, prior school records, or information received from previous instructors).
  • Has emotional problems that cannot be met by HCAA.
  • Has a court record or a reputation of immoral behavior.
  • Has a physical handicap or learning disability for which HCAA is not equipped.
  • Has any other educational, social, or physical needs that cannot be met by HCAA's existing programs, services, or staff.

Annual Re-enrollment

Enrollment is renewed annually. Continued enrollment requires:

  • Good standing in academics, behavior and attendance
  • Fulfillment of financial obligations
  • Family adherence to school policies
  • Completion of annual forms and fees

Students who do not meet expectations may be placed on probation or may not be invited to return.

Annual Re-enrollment

• $300 for full‑time students (M–F), $200 for Monday/Wednesday/Friday students, and $150 for Tuesday/Thursday students

• May be paid in two installments due August 1st and January 1st

• Covers all daily classroom supplies; families only provide supplies for specials classes (dance, art, drama) and a nap mat for PreK3 and PreK4

• Each student receives one full set of supplies plus one replacement set if items are lost; additional lost items become the family’s responsibility

• Supplies that are used up through normal daily use will be replenished by the school as needed

• All students are required to wear the official Hill Country Arts Academy uniform during the school day.

• Lands’ End is the primary uniform provider beginning Fall 2026; navy bottoms are the standard for all grades.

• French Toast items remain acceptable during the 2026–2027 school year and may be worn until outgrown or damaged.

• Performance wear cannot be grandfathered in; all students must transition to the updated performance uniform for the 2026–2027 school year.

• Full transition to the updated uniform program is expected by the 2027–2028 school year.

• Students must follow guidelines for tops, bottoms, outerwear, and footwear as outlined in the full Uniform Policy.

• Hair, accessories, and grooming should maintain a neat, professional, and distraction‑free appearance suitable for an arts‑focused learning environment.

• Uniforms must be clean, well‑fitting, and in good repair each day.

• Families are encouraged to label all uniform items with the student’s name.

Hill Country Arts Academy will not be participating in the TEFA Voucher Program for the 2026–2027 school year. Our leadership team is continuing to review program requirements, timelines, and potential impacts to ensure any future participation aligns with our mission, values, and commitment to high-quality arts education.
