The curriculum emphasizes mastery of fundamental script structures, including Dramatic Structures, Structural Tools, and historical frameworks such as the Neoclassical Rules and the Well-Made Play. This two-year course equips students with the versatile skills required to succeed in the creative writing industry. Emphasizing the significance of cross-genre standards in both non-fiction and fictional works, students will engage in revisionary processes, text-based projects, and the development of a comprehensive Writer’s Portfolio by the end of the course.
Throughout this track, students will undertake a variety of creative and analytical projects, including introductory novels, genre-specific writing, literary analyses of modern works, articles, reflective and personal essays, and literary contest or magazine submission logs. Additionally, students will gain practical experience by serving as staff members for the school newspaper and two departmental literary magazines. This hands-on approach fosters creativity, professionalism, and a strong foundation for future endeavors in writing and publication.
