“From the moment I stepped into the role of a student teacher in high school, I knew dance and the performing arts would be my lifelong passion. Guiding my first tiny troupe through a simple ballet barre sparked something magical—the way a shared moment on stage could light up a child’s spirit. That spark set me on the path to becoming a teacher—shaping every step of my journey as I honed my craft and embraced the joy of guiding young artists.
When I returned to Killeen, I was determined to build a home for the arts where every child could find that spark, regardless of background or budget. With little more than rented studio hours, a small group of eager families, and a belief that the hill country could blossom with creativity, I opened the doors of Hill Country Arts Academy. Our journey has been fueled by the courage of students daring to explore and the generosity of a community that believes in the transformative power of the arts.
